Strengthening Wellness

Presently traditional Chinese medicine is the largest medical system in the world, servicing the medical and health care needs of billions of people worldwide. TCM is a complete medical system which diagnoses and treats systemic diseases using herbs, acupuncture, nutrition and exercise.

From a Chinese medical perspective, true health is a constant state of relaxation in the body, it is the existence of nutrient rich, highly oxygenated blood coursing undeterred through the entire body. Such a body does not experience chronic fatigue, chronic pain, chronic indigestion or, chronic anything. Blood vessels will be vasodilated allowing the circulatory system to do its job uninhibited, there is radiant skin, and a lack of acidity in the body.Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine stimulates the body’s own intrinsic internal resources, enhancing the body to heal itself from the inside-out.

Acupuncture is used worldwide both as a primary and complementary form of medical treatment. The list of conditions that acupuncture may help is essentially limitless. The most common conditions are allergies/asthma, headaches, anxiety/depression, fertility, and pain anywhere in the body.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) archaeological evidence dates as far back as 5000 years. During the Stone Age in China stone knives and pointed rocks were used to relieve pain and diseases. TCM is based on Taoism (way of life) practices including acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, tina, qigong, sexology and food therapy. Acupuncture uses have been recognized by the World Health Organization in the late 1970's to treat nearly 48 familiar ailments which includes but is not limited to:

  • Neuromusculoskeletal conditions like arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome, insomnia, muscular stiffness and pain, neuralgia, dizziness.
  • Psychological and emotional disorders such as anxiety, insomnia and depression.
  • Disorders of the circulatory system, such as arteriosclerosis, anemia, angina pectoris, and hypertension.
  • Respiratory disorders like allergies, emphysema, sinusitis, bronchitis.
  • Gastrointestinal conditions such as ulcers, food allergies, constipation, irritable bowel disorder, anorexia, gastritis, chronic diarrhea, indigestion and intestinal weakness.
  • Addictions and substance abuse concerns which includes but is not limited to addictions of alcohol, nicotine, drugs, cravings, limited beliefs and fears.

Where There Is Circulation There Is No Pain

The true concepts of Traditional Chinese medicine operate under known physiological principles, involving the complex organization of the neural, vascular, endocrine, visceral, and somatic systems, sustained by the circulation of nutrients and oxygen from air.

If blood circulation in a vessel, tissue, organ or pathway is blocked, stagnant, in excess or deficient, an internal state imbalance of the body is reflected throughout the organism.

Notice that reducing resistance in a conductor allows more electricity to flow through it (known as Ohm's law). Reducing resistance through blood vessels, lymph vessels, tissues, organs eliminates pain and discomfort. Through stimulation of various neural pathways; acupuncture has the ability to unblock the circulation of blood, oxygen, nutrients, hormones, enzymes, anti-inflammatories and support optimum circulation, promoting homeostasis.

Two common TCM diagnostic techniques reflecting internal changes are: pulse and tongue diagnosis. Tongue diagnosis analyzes mapped out areas of the tongue corresponding to different parts of the body. Examining the tongue’s color, coating, distribution of coating, texture and other distinguishing features reveal the internal state of the body. Pulse diagnosis involves feeling different pulse positions along the pulses of the radial arteries of each wrist. Each of these upper, middle and lower pulse positions including pulse qualities, reflect the state of its corresponding system within the body. Interpreting through these diagnostic techniques reveals important information about a person’s state of health and directs successful treatment principle.

Change Is An Inside Job

Why do so many people go through years of therapy only to repeat the same patterns? That which is resisted, denied, suppressed or feared is a profound call for change. The conscious everyday thinking mind is capable of holding onto certain beliefs (reality overlays) while simultaneously the subconscious or unconscious mind may be sending out old data which attracts the same old energy patterns and life experiences. If the unconscious energies are not serving one’s best interest/ highest excitement, one can consciously be practicing positive affirmations continuously without ever manifesting physical change. This occurs because the subconscious emotional level may be broadcasting self defeating messages which enforce limitation states such as: one does not deserve to embody vital wellness and/or the best abundance ever. Consistently any unconscious act of belittling becomes the energy (people, situations, experiences) one will continue to attract, inadvertently empowering the very condition they’d like to change. Intentional choices manifest when a person’s conscious choices are in coherent alignment with their unconscious energies.

Acupuncture has the ability to access and facilitate releasing the underlying emotions and belief patterns which created decoherent states of being. To be transformed spiritually is to be whole with respect to all challenges which are actually expansion opportunities. All transformation is Self-transformation. Transformation employs vibrations and not disease; shifting from life denying to vital life affirming vibration is transformational.

TCM’s natural holistic approach to wellness compliments our modern medical society as it is today.
